Evangelism the way Jesus did
When it comes to the Gospel, God did not leave us to fend for ourselves in presenting the good news of salvation to a lost and dying world. He left us a perfect systematic theology of evangelism that cannot be improved upon by any man. Psalm 19:7 says “The Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul.”
The majority of people who have lived and died since the beginning of time, have lived and died without ever really knowing what life was all about. Sadly, 95% of people who claim to believe the Bible (which tells us what life is all about) have never even attempted to introduce another person to saving faith in Jesus Christ, and 71% of them believe it is wrong to interfere with another person’s belief system! Many of these people have gone to church all their lives, listened to hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of sermons and are still utterly incapable of articulating a comprehensive and compelling presentation of the Gospel.
Evangelism and the Bible
One question people often ask is, “How did we get the Bible?” In 2 Peter 1:21 we are told: “For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” But, there is one part of the Bible unlike any other. Exodus 31:18 tells us that God wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger!
It is impossible to overstate the theological and the practical significance of this fact. Accordingly, God’s emphasis on the moral law does not end there; it begins there. The revelation at Mt. Sinai represents the one and only time that God descended to Earth in His omnipotent state, and spoke audibly to the entire nation of Israel!
